Meghan Markle believes her instinct to leave UK makes sense now as she was 'destined'
to help fight systemic racism in the US.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior members of the Royal Family
at the end of March, spending time in Canada before settling in California amid
the coronavirus pandemic.
The former actress has allegedly told friends her 'gnawing urgency to uproot from
England' was fate so she could be at the 'forefront' of the anti-racism
movement in America.
A close friend is said to have told Dailymail.com that the activist has been conversing
with Oprah about how she 'can be part of the solution'.
They said: 'Meghan feels her mission goes far beyond her acting. She said
she wants to use her voice for change and hasn't ruled out a career in politics.'
The Royal recently made a speech at her old school about the death
of George Floyd.
She said Mr Floyd's death had been 'absolutely devastating' and his life
'mattered', as she delivered a video address to the Immaculate Heart High
School in Los Angeles in early June.
Meghan added she had been 'nervous' to speak out,but 'the only wrong
thing to say is nothing'.
She said: I wasn't sure what I could say to you.I wanted to say the right thing
and I was really nervous that I wouldn't or it would get picked apart, but I
realise the only wrong thing to say is nothing because George Floyd's life
mattered.
'And so do the other people's names we know and whose names we do
not know'
Speaking directly to students, she added: 'Now you can be part of rebuilding,
and I know people sometimes say "How many times do we need to rebuild?"
'But you know what,we are going to rebuild and rebuild and rebuild until it is
rebuilt. Because when the foundation is broken,so are we.
'You are going to lead with love, you are going to lead with compassion, you
are going to use your voice.
'You are going to use your voice in a stronger way than you've ever been able
to because most of you are 18,so you are going to vote.
'You are going to have empathy for those who don't see the world through the
same lens that you do,because with as diverse and vibrant and open-minded
as the teaching at Immaculate heart are.I know you know that black live
matter.'
It comes as one of the royal's closest friends,Jessica Mulroney, has her TV
show axed after an argument about the Black Lives Matter movement.
