Virginia Senator Tim Kaine said that the United States created slavery and did not
inherit it.These comments raised quite a few eyebrows since slavery is a thing that
has existed since the beginning of man. And slavery existed in current-day USA in
European colonies long before the United States was founded in 1776. Kaines comments
were made during a Senate floor speech about ending structural racism.
